Dr. Teresa Yang graduated with Distinction from Stanford University with a B.A. in psychology. Her dental education was completed at UCLA, where she graduated Cum Laude, 1 of 3 dentists to do so from a class of 108. While at UCLA, she won numerous awards including the California Dental Association award, the Academy of Operative Dentistry award, and the American College of Stomatologic Surgeons award. Dr. Yang was also inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the dental honor society. She served as the society's president in 2002-03.

Dr. Yang has practiced dentistry in Santa Monica for over 30 years. She prides herself in treating each patient as she would want to be treated. To keep up with new trends and technology in dentistry, Dr. Yang participates in continuing education on an ongoing basis. She got certified in a sleep apnea mini-residency in 2017.

Throughout her career, Dr. Yang has taught part-time on and off at UCLA, teaching students how to do crowns and bridges and then mentoring students in patient management. She received a teaching award from the class of 1999. Dr. Yang has also worked on behalf of the Dental Board of California, having served as an expert consultant and a monitor for dentists on probation. Currently she is a member of the California Dental Association Council on Peer Review Council and served as its immediate past Chair. Peer review is a forum established by organized dentistry to manage patient/doctor issues and disputes. Dr. Yang is also a member of the CDA Foundation Board, tasked with providing free dental care for needy Californians.

Dr. Yang is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Western Los Angeles Dental Society.
